Set inside an "after-death honky-tonk," Mutt explores the 49 days between death and rebirth of Miyo, a hapa (mixed-race Japanese and Caucasian) girl who grew up in the mid-twentieth century American South in the shadow of the Japanese-American Interment camps. Beings from Miyo's life make up a country/punk/experimental band and accompany in this strange place as she navigates her past life and contemplates her future, illuminating the dynamics of being mixed, or in between different identities, genders, races, realms and states of being.
